Light pours generously into this London conservatory. It's a beautiful feature, but even the loveliest light needs softening now and then. For this commission, bespoke shading became the detail that changed everything.
Grants presented the client with detailed visual renderings, showing how different materials and colourways would sit within the actual shape of the room. From these, the client chose IV Hokkaido, a fine Japanese bamboo weave from The Designer Collection, finished with Holland & Sherry's Grant Stripe trim.
The outcome is a weave that complements the space while filtering the light elegantly—its effect feels close to sitting beneath a tree.

With many blinds needed on the glazed roof and across the windows, ease of operation mattered as much as the finish. Every blind was motorised individually, with the option to group them together.
Once avoided during the brightest part of the day, the room stays comfortable enough to linger in, whether over a long lunch at the dining table or an evening spent with the doors open to the garden.
