The client’s interior designer was struggling to come up with a suitable solution for a planned apex shaped window and minimal slimline glazing. Grants were initially asked to quote for a curtain track for the lower section and a shaped blind for the top window. The client placed the order but then wanted to understand more what she was getting and a meeting was arranged between Grants and the client at the Grants showroom in Chelsea.
At the showroom, the client saw the integrated gable blind solution and decided she wanted the clean lines this offered and Honeycell Duette® blinds were selected for the whole window areas. Despite having closed off her ceiling decided that she could not compromise the end result with retrofitted blinds and the builder was instructed to open up the ceiling and side channels were fitted within the walls.
The result is amazing, the lower blind stacks within the solid frame area and is 3.5m wide as a single-blind to minimise the gaps. The shaped are is 2 separate blinds that unfold from within the ceiling to come down to the lower blind when required but are invisible when open.
The built-in solution has created a very effective gable blind reducing the light when needed, the separate upper and lower section means there can be privacy, but the top blinds can remain open letting light in. The end result is perfect
